The 8th conference on “Universities, Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development in Africa” took place on 19th and 20th February 2020 at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences in Sankt Augustin. The conference was organized by Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences and was part of the project “BET Ghana – Building Expertise and Training for growth in the consumer goods and food processing industry”, financed by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and administrated by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The project is conducted through the Hochschule Bonn- Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences in Germany and the University of Cape Coast in Ghana.

The conference continued the successful tradition of the previous years and provided a unique platform in Germany, allowing the exchange among businesses and between industry and academia from Europe and Africa. The conference highlighted the issues entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) in Africa, market entry and market development in Africa, international business between Germany and Africa, as well as enterprise development and the training and recruitment of qualified personnel. Consideration were given especially for the opportunities of networking between universities and businesses.
